About this site

Just about every site has an about page giving the high level details about the site. If it's a personal site, highlights of the owner's life and how the site came to be are usually listed. For a corporate site, the entity's main focus (area of expertise, products or services, and market) are neccessarily listed.

And so here is this site's reason for existence.

Welcome to my technical, mostly professional site. My name is Kitt Hodsden. I am a software developer, working mainly, but not exclusively, with web-based technologies.

In former roles, I've been a CAD operator, enclosure designer, map software guru, computer animation lighting director, software manager, technical lead, imaging consultant, LDAP developer, WML/WAP engineer, jewerly designer, java developer and a UI engineer, not in that order. I've worked in the automotive, audio, computer animation, movie, internet and consulting industries, becoming a jack-of-all-trades.

I'm available for consulting work. My current favored programming language is PHP, but I also do work in Perl, Java/JSP, C++/C and other languages/environments that get the job done.

This site is a collection of technical notes, how-tos, tricks and tips that I've written, developed, discovered, learned or was taught.
