Not chocolate

Blog

So, I'm sitting here at Dad's house, thinking, "I want some chocolate." I've managed to the end of the day on one meal, albeit a nice sized one, and its left-overs (my third trip to Panera in as many days), and for once not overeaten or overindulged on my caloric intake. Chocolate would be simply fabulous.

So, I wander into the kitchen, figuring there will be chocolate here somewhere. I pass the jar of almonds, and open the fridge, maybe someone other than chocolate will catch my fancy. Lots of salad fixings Tons of fruit. Low fat this and low fat that. Tasty looking juices, most without high fructose corn syrup (no, I didn't check them all, just most of them, hence my "most").

Nothing catching my fancy.

I wander over to the cabinets and start opening them. Wow! Talk about a health-nut's heaven! Tasty dried fruits and nuts and flax seed and all sorts of tasty wonderful, would-fit-in-just-fine-in-California foods! Oh, just what my cabinets look like the day after I go grocery shopping.

But no chocolate.

I wander back to the fridge and open the freezer part, having given up on finding chocolate, and deciding that there might be chocolate ice cream. Whoo! Chocolate ice cream bars! Yay! I pull one out, and realize it's a diet bar. I flip it over and see the dreaded warning, "Phenylketonurics Contains Phenylalanine."

Sigh.

I put the chocolate bar away.

Carrots sound mighty tasty right now.
