Things to do in Portland

Blog

Last time Jonathan and I were in Portland, the Lyft driver welcomed us to Portland, and handed us a list of Things to do in Portland.

I love this. I love the friendliness of the act. The list is really good, and is now my Portland Bucket List, going to try to make it part of Jonathan's, too. Minus the coffee houses. Maybe.

Things to Do

  • Japanese Gardens

Have been twice, love both times. I think if I go again, it'll be early in the morning. The crowds make the experience less meditative.

  • OMSI

Went with Mom and Eric and B and Chris. Was good, though seemed oriented to younger people.

  • Farmers Market on Natio Parkway
  • Pittock Mansion
  • Mulnomah Falls (30-45 minutes away)
  • Helium and Harvey's (Look on LIvingSocial or Groupon for 2 for 1 coupons)
  • Oregon Zoo
  • Timbers game
  • Ground Kontrol (along with Barcade for over 21)

Went to Ground Kontrol during XOXO, then back again with Dad to play Pacman. Haven't been to Barcade yet.

  • Powell's Books

HEAVEN! Of course have been here.

  • Hood River (hiking, breweries, wind surfing)

Have passed through, will go again.

Fun Streets to Shop & SightSee

  • 23rd St - the Alphabet District

Of course I've been here, this is where B lives!

  • Hawthorne District
  • Pearl District
