Date: Mon, 17 Dec 2007 09:34:53 -0800 (PST) From: Hugh Genin To: bridge@thepinkpalace.org Subject: [bridge] Anti-anti-aging activities Some have claimed that bridge is a useful exercise for helping keep the mind spry and youthful (e.g., http://www.nytimes.com/2007/12/11/health/11brod.html and www.acbl.org/assets/documents/about/news-clippings/Mind-Games-May-Trump-Alzheimers.pdf However, this runs contrary to the spirit of the Dolores bridge game, which of course is meant to help us all prepare for old age as one of the three pillars of aging: bridge, and forgetfulness. So if you would like to help rage against the rage against the dying of the light, come join us tonight, 8 p.m., at 1040 Dolores #307 for a pleasant descent into dementia. To help the process along, there will of course be dementia-inducing beverages available. Please RSVP if you plan on coming; bridge may be cancelled if we don't have enough. --Hugh
